CSCAP's Study Group on Women, Peace and Security

CSCAP's Study Group on Women, Peace and Security held its fourth and final meeting in Honolulu in March, with participants from across the region joining either in-person or virtually.

The meeting addressed a range of topics, included armed forces' implementation of the WPS agenda; regional approaches to WPS in ASEAN and the Pacific Islands; the importance of transforming gender norms; and the need for gender balance in defense and security narratives, security research, the media, and in security-focused organisations.  Study Group participants also used findings from previous meetings to draft a WPS Study Group Memorandum.  A report on the Key Findings from the Study Group can be found here.
